Inspire, Approach, Advise: Three Avenues to Planned Gifts – June 23, 2011

May 23rd, 2011 by admin in Events

A donor’s decision to remember a non-profit in his or her estate plan happens for a variety of reasons.  Often the donor is inspired to give because he or she believes strongly in the organization’s mission. In other cases a planned gift comes about because a development officer or a professional advisor introduces the idea. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear three different perspectives on ways to increase planned giving at your organization.

INSPIRE: Donor Sue Schwartz will talk about why she was inspired to make a planned gift to Crisis Assistance Ministry. Michelle Hamilton, CFRE, the agency’s Development Officer, will discuss their current approach to planned giving.

APROACH: Adelaide Davis, Associate Vice President of Alumni Relations and Planned Giving at Queens University, will provide role-play examples of incorporating planned giving into donor conversations.

ADVISE: Meg D. Goldstein, JD, a trust and estate attorney at Poyner Spruill, LLP will discuss the professional advisor’s role in the planned giving process.
